@sachac As the personal computing age gives way to tablets and cloud computing, the better hardware is obsolescing faster than it’s breaking down. I’ve been finding older Linux versions a way of keeping the older equipment alive, but integrated laptops are challenged to keep up with current day graphics requirements, where a card in a tower would be an easy solution.
During the Labour Day weekend, W- dusted off the PCG-U1 and worked on restoring it. He removed all the keycaps, brushed all the debris out, and painstakingly rearranged the silicone domes under keys until the regular keyboard worked again. He’s so awesome.
I don’t know what we’re going to do with it yet, but we’ll keep it around instead of donating or recycling it.
