Canadian IBAN to European banks

European banks like 4-digit IBAN, but @BMO transit numbers are 5-digit. Bank advises using first 4 digits of transit plus 7-digit bank account number as IBAN  to receive funds.  Canadian banks don’t use IBAN https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Bank_Account_Number#Non-EEA

BMO advises  “How do I find my BIC and IBAN numbers?”:  For funds coming from Europe, the IBAN code is the same as the 4-digit transit number and 7-digit BMO bank account number of the account to be credited (without spaces or dashes) at https://bmo.intelliresponse.com/obs_eng/?requestType=NormalRequest&source=2&id=1871&question=How+do+I+find+my+BIC+and+IBAN+numbers

In Canada, transit numbers are 5-digit, composed of the 4-digit bank branch plus a fifth digit indicating the geographic region (e.g. Ontario is 2).  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Routing_transit_number#Canadian_transit_number
